PROJECT CASE STUDY

Jaguar Land Rover Halewood

Over the years AirCraft Air Handling has undertaken many projects for Jaguar Land Rover, the most recent being the manufacture of an 525kW Indirect Gas Fired system, along with extraction units to filter and heat the air. This has been the second Indirect Gas Fired AHU that we have manufactured and commissioned by AirCraft Air Handling.

Our first project was at the JLR Solihull plant, where the Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, XE and F-PACE are assembled. Our latest work relates to the JLR Halewood plant in Merseyside, which is undergoing major investment to become an all-electric manufacturing facility.

As with our first project, we worked very closely with JLR’s contractor, who was undertaking the full installation of a new AHU heating system for their latest production line. Although the basic specification was the same as that chosen for the Solihull plant, the AHU builds remained bespoke, which resulted in our design team collaborating with the contractor to ensure the tempered air output matched JLR’s requirements.

The new AHUs were designed and configured with a control solution that would fully integrate with JLR’s Building Management System (BMS).

We also provided a control solution for each unit that has full BMS connectivity.

As with all the AHUs we manufacture, we fully tested each unit prior to site delivery for quality and functionality of the assembled units at our Staffordshire premises. AirCraft Air Handling engineers then undertook on-site testing and commissioning.
